Overview

The VOOK MiniMic is a dual-channel wireless microphone system built around two transmitters (TX) and one receiver (RX). The transmitters clip onto clothing and capture audio with their built-in microphones, transmitting it wirelessly to the receiver. The receiver plugs directly into your device — no app or driver installation needed.

Designed for creators who need reliable, broadcast-quality wireless audio in an ultra-compact package, the MiniMic keeps setup effortless: take the transmitters and receiver out of the charging case, connect the receiver to your phone or camera, and you're ready to record.

We recommend reading through this guide before getting started to get the best performance and safe use out of your MiniMic.

Getting Started

Setup is instant. The MiniMic transmitters and receiver come pre-paired — just take them out of the charging case, connect the receiver to your device, and you're good to go.

Initial Setup

  1. 1Remove both transmitters and the receiver from the charging case.
  2. 2The transmitter LEDs will begin flashing, indicating they are powering on and searching for the receiver.
  3. 3Connect the receiver directly to your smartphone. Use the included Lightning Adapter for iPhone/iPad, or connect via USB-C for Android and other devices.
  4. 4The receiver and transmitter LEDs will turn solid once pairing is complete.
  5. 5Open your preferred camera or recording app and begin recording.
Pro Tip
The MiniMic features automatic pairing — the transmitters and receiver remember each other after their first connection. Simply take them out of the charging case and they'll pair automatically every time.

Using the Clip

Each VOOK MiniMic transmitter features a secure integrated clip, designed to attach firmly to the edge of clothing such as a shirt collar, jacket lapel, or pocket. The clip provides a stable hold so the microphone stays in place throughout your recording session.

For best audio quality, position the transmitter as high on the chest as comfortably possible — ideally within 20–30 cm (8–12 inches) of the speaker's mouth.

Attach clip to collar or lapel

Position the transmitter near the speaker's collar for optimal audio pickup

Pro Tip
Mount the MiniMic transmitter as close to your subject's mouth as possible without obstructing the microphone with clothing or hair. Its compact size makes it ideal for discreet placement even in professional on-camera settings.

How to Use

The VOOK MiniMic connects directly to your smartphone or camera via the receiver. No app download or configuration is required — it works as a standard plug-and-play USB audio device.

iOS (iPhone / iPad)

Connect the receiver to your iPhone or iPad using the included Lightning Adapter. The built-in Camera app will automatically detect and use the MiniMic as its audio source.

Android

Connect the receiver directly to your Android device's USB-C port. If your default camera app doesn't recognise the external mic, use the Open Camera app (free on Google Play Store) and configure it as follows:

  1. 1Open the "Open Camera" app from the Play Store.
  2. 2Navigate to the app's Settings.
  3. 3Tap on Video Settings.
  4. 4Select Audio Source and choose External mic (if present).

This enables the MiniMic to be used as the primary audio source for all video recordings in the app.
