01 What does the VOOK app actually do?
The app is your control room for the VOOK microphone family. It pairs with your mic over USB-C / Lightning, gives you real-time controls (gain, noise cancellation, channel mix), and runs our cloud-based Enhance engine on any recording you upload — pulling out background noise and lifting voice clarity.
You can also browse and re-download your processed clips, manage your credits and update mic firmware from the same place.
02 How does the AI noise reduction work?
You upload an audio or video file, the app sends it to our processing engine, and a cleaned version comes back — typically in under a minute on a decent Wi-Fi connection. The model separates speech from background sound (traffic, AC hum, room reverb, crowd noise) and rebuilds the voice channel without the artifacts you usually get from heavy de-noising.
Every processed file ships with an Original vs Denoised A/B toggle so you can hear the difference before you keep it.
03 Which file formats are supported?
Audio: .mp3, .wav, .m4a. Video: .mp4, .mov. For video files we extract the audio track, clean it, and stitch it back into the original video without re-encoding anything else.
Maximum file size is 500 MB per upload; if you need to process something larger, split it into clips in your editor first.
04 What are credits and how do I get them?
Credits are how Enhance processing is metered: 1 credit = 1 minute of cleaned audio. Every new VOOK mic comes with 30 free credits for the first month so you can try it without committing to a plan.
After that you can top up credit packs whenever you need them — pay as you go, no subscription required. You can buy credits inside the app under Settings → Credits & Plans.
05 Is my audio private? Where does it get processed?
Files are encrypted in transit and processed on servers hosted in India. We don't use your recordings to train models, and we don't share them with third parties. Processed files stay available in the app for 7 days — long enough to re-download them — then they're permanently deleted from our servers.
If you want a clip gone sooner, you can delete it manually from Outputs and it's removed within an hour.
06 Which phones and adapters are compatible?
The VOOK app runs on Android 10 and above today, and the iOS version is coming soon. For live mic control you'll need a USB-C OTG-compatible Android device.
For Enhance — processing recordings you already have — you don't need the mic connected at all. The app works as a standalone tool on any Android phone that meets the OS requirement above.
07 Does it work offline?
Live mic controls (gain, noise cancellation toggle, channel mix) all work fully offline — the app talks to the mic directly over USB and you can record straight into your camera app.
Enhance processing requires an internet connection because it runs in the cloud. Files you upload while offline get queued and start processing automatically as soon as you're back online.
08 Where can I get support if something breaks?
